Putting the START debate to the Truth-O-Meter

One of the most high-profile debates arising as lawmakers head into a lame-duck session is whether to ratify a new START treaty to control nuclear arms, as the Obama Administration wants. Beginning today, and over the next few days, PolitiFact will look at statements made by figures on both sides of the divide. The treaty would enact modest nuclear-weapons reductions and extend verification provisions that lapsed last year.
